At The Amish Home, we work with a network of some of the best craftsmen in the country to bring you beautiful hardwood furniture specifically selected to suit your home's needs.
Our hardwood furniture is built-to-order in Holmes County, Ohio. Our sofas are built-to-order in Odon, Indiana.

There really isn't anything quite like our handcrafted solid wood furniture. Our craftsmen build with a eye towards quality that you simply won't find anywhere else. Our furniture starts with strong, durable, and beautiful American hardwood. It's hand-crafted using traditional joinery techniques like dovetails, tongue and groove, and mortise and tenon joints. Surfaces are hand-sanded to create a perfectly smooth canvas for your favorite stain color. Finally, a catalyzed conversion varnish is applied - this unique topcoat is extremely strong and durable while being ultra-thin, allowing the wood's true beauty to shine through.

Wood is the ultimate “green” product – it’s renewable, versatile, and biodegradable. Plus it has a very small carbon footprint. Wood furniture can last for generations if cared for properly, and can be repaired instead of replaced as needed. Our lumber comes from sustainably managed forests, with new saplings continually planted to replenish supply.
Did you know that the United States has more forests today than it did a century ago, and the annual hardwood growth rate surpasses harvest by 70%? Our nation's forests now produce a semi-load worth of dry lumber every 14 seconds, and 1.7 billion new trees are planted each year. Since 2007, Appalachian forests have expanded by 300,000 acres.
Sustainability may be in fashion now more than ever, but for our Amish builders, it's what they've always done.
In addition to using sustainable materials, our Amish workshops work to minimize energy use. Workers and supply partners reside within the community, reducing travel and shipping needs. Sawdust, the primary byproduct, is always reused, sometimes as fuel to heat homes, as horse bedding on nearby farms, or spread on the fields as natural fertilizer.

Our prices are fair.
Simply put, we don't offer cheap furniture. But we keep our markup minimal and our prices fair. We offer heirloom-quality solid wood furniture for only slightly more than you'll pay for flat-packed MDF & veneer from the big box stores.
